Since I haven't posted a Friday Book Blog in about three weeks (yikes!), I have tons of books to choose from. My winner is Alexander McCall Smith's Trains and Lovers.
Four strangers share a compartment on the Edinburgh to London train. And they share stories of their lives and ways in which love has touched them. The writing is clear and nearly staccato: a scale of short, sharp musical notes. As each character weaves his or her story a melody emerges proclaiming the invincibility of love.
Plus it has one of my favorite definitions of love I've ever read: "'So what is this love that comes with being married?'.... Wanting them not to go away."
