On the origin of


I was struck this morning listening to a Dvorak violin concerto this morning at the similarities between the words violin and violence.
Courtesy of a great site, the online etymology dictionary, I learned that the origin of the word 'violence' stems from the Latin, violentia, meaning vehemence and impetuosity.
Now I get it.
