So, I'm no genius of Constitutional checks and balances, but I'm fairly certain that Congress is empowered to subpoena witnesses during investigations into whether the executive branch overstepped its authority.
Dubya, who has been handed unprecedented power by a ridiculously sycophantic Congress in the past has now had a reality check. And he's whining about it. You can almost imagine the stomping foot and the pre-adolescent pout when he says, "I will oppose any attempts to subpoena White House officials."
You know what, buddy, you don't get a choice. WE, the people, have a right to know.
Perhaps this is what comes of elevating to the presidency someone who has no familiarity with the Constitution.

"No familiarity with"?
I'd say "complete contempt for."
