Here at the Punkinhouse, it was a terrible weekend for gardening, active gardening like mulching, pruning, transplanting. It was a perfect weekend for the garden though.
Most of Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday we have been sitting under a blanket of gray while a steady rain has replenished the newly-sprouting plants. Everything got a good soaking without being battered by a downpour.
I love a garden in the sunshine, but a garden in the rain, when the light is diffused and the plants shimmer with wet, glows in its own earthy way.
