Bake a cake

I'm in awe of bakers.
Not because baking is difficult. (As a matter of fact, I think it's quite easy.) But because it's really hard to give away a beautiful lemon curd marbled cheesecake without even a tiny nibble.
On the other hand, if I ate half of what I baked, I'd be bigger than a house.
Usually, when I bake something special it's for a big group (family or friends). I get a small piece, and everyone else gobbles up the rest. Some of my best cheesecakes have been disposed of this way. But every so often, I bake for a meeting or something that I'm not attending. Then I have to kiss my cake goodbye at the door and hope that the lingering taste on my lips is sufficient. (It never is.) --Shhhh! Don't tell anyone I kissed the cheesecake--
Therefore, because they create the most delicious food and can't have a slice before it goes out the door, I'm in awe of bakers.
