E Z Bake

To me baking and cooking are equal in difficulty. To be sure, they are different; baking requires much more precise measurements, but it's not harder or easier than cooking.
I'd long ago introduced the rudiments of cooking to the Punkinhead, yesterday was her big leap into baking.
And she had no interest in starting simple with scones, or zucchini bread which can be whipped up in 15 minutes and popped in the oven. Nope. She wanted to bake mocha crème caramels which require making a caramel to coat six ramekins, making a proper stove-top custard for each ramekin, baking, cooling, chilling, then making a chocolate ganache go on the custard which also chills so that when you invert them on a plate the chocolate ganache makes a crust on which the mocha crème sits and the caramel coats the top and sides.
They are decadently delicious, but not the simplest thing to make. However, Punkinhead nailed it.
Mmmmmmm.
